    • I agree
Photo's and description/list of items for sale:
    I have [FONT=&quot]a Tedelex Intellipower 1200w 2000VA 24v DC for sale.
Can keep the sump and some pumps running for up to 8-12 hrs

I also have a DB box wired to accommodate the use of the back-up unit. It includes 2x digital timers (for lights), and also has provision to accomodate a return pump, skimmer, 2 x powerheads, and heater.

Basically when power goes out the back-up unit will kick in running just the return pumps and powerheads. When mains power is restored back on, battery back-up switches off and recharges and rest of the equipment comes online again.

    R3000.

You have livestock worth thousands, surely piece of mind during a power failure should also be a priority.

How many batteries does it have and how old are they?

Also can you give me the dimensions of it I.e. length width and height and approximate weight so that I can check courier costs

    Hi Ahmed,

Ir weighs 26 kg and is about 45x38x44cm. It uses 2x12V batteries.

    Hi. How old is it?

Sorry for the dumb question but what does 'provision to accommodate' mean?

What needs to be done to run those extra pumps and heater etc?

The unit is about 18months old.

"Provision to accomodate" just means it can "take up to" in other words apart from the lights (on two timers) it can take another 6 pieces of equipment (return pump, skimmer, heater, ATO, and 2 flow pumps) or whatever 6 pieces of equipment you choose to run.

The flow pumps and return pump would run off battery in the event of a power failure.

I need to check the wiring diagram to get the exact set-up, but basically the DB Box is wired into the battery back-up and the mains and then all the equipment is wired into the DB box.

If it is all too confusing then it is not necessary to use the DB box at all. Just plug the equipment you want to run off battery in the event of a power failure into the battery back-up.

I'm not at all clued up with electronics but would you be able to just simply run a heater and return pump off the battery? And will it automatically switch over when power goes out?

You should be able to. I think though that a heater will deplete the battery quite quickly. Anyone want to chip in?
