    Hi Leslie.

Looking at the moment for a 4ft tank and this skimmer would be great for it. If it is still available if/when I find a decent tank I will probably grab it from you.
p.s. do you know of anyone in EL with a decent 4ft looking to sell?

    Scott

    Hey scott,

Pm me your number and I will send you info of the guys I know who are selling tanks atm, people contact me all the time. Depending on the load the skimmer will work well on a 4FT of about 400-600lt

Plan B is to consider building a tank and this will allow you to add a few extras such as a greater width as opposed to the standard .450mm available .

The whole reefocto range of skimmers were rerated to make provision for the newer skimmers to be elidgible for purchase within the SA market, so if you consider a TS2 is currently rated for 500lt a recuirc skimmer (a DNW110 is basically the external equivalent) is most definatley more equipped to handle a higher volume as contact time is increased.

I have personally used this skimmer on a 600lt system and coupled with regular monthly waterchanges it has performed perfectly..

see link to pictures in my thread here: Leslies 1.2 - Page 18 - Marine Aquariums of South Africa

rule of thumb to live by is to douple the system capacity and buy a skimmer for that if the budget allows...;)

I've got a 500l and was looking for a ts2 so will be keen if this is rated for a similar system

look in the collection cup where the dirt rises and enters the cup, you will see the crack on the left.....inside the cup below the black lid

as far as ratings go i would say it can do 500lt no problem...
