I hope that's not locally caught because the season is now and pet shops don't sell them because they local! If pet shop did sell it more than likely someone caught it and gave it to them.

My advise is rather give that fish away!

Well who ever buys this fish should not be keeping marines because they are promoting the sale of local caught fish. At that price they would also be crazy, even at R 10.00 would be stupid as you can go catch one in 5 minutes at any beach along the south or north coast!

The season in Durban for catching juveniles is normally from about December until the end of May, they come when the water is warm and from about the end of May it's starts getting cold, by this stage they have grown and survive the cold or die if to small.

    Hopefully that answers your question.

Also now is the time for the Gem tanga to be caught, they start to come with the cold water but only until about the end of May. I know of a few that have come out. This season the guys have been catching Powder Blue's, Gem's, Naso's, Clown Surgeon's and the normal things like goldies, cleaner wrasse, all sorts if butterfly's, jumping beans, kole tangs, mata tanga, morish idols etc
