    hey guys i have some aragonite id like to remove from my system and replace with a finer substrate..

    approx 25kg will be removed (i have 50kg in my system)

    full of life so wating to basically swap for a bag of caribsea fine aragonite..

    i think it would be a waste to dry it out so offering here....

    let me know if anyone is keen..

    hi les. Starting a new tank its been running for 2weeks would like to know what is the difference in that sand and normal sea sand and how much do you want for it if you still got it? thanks jnr

    huge difference between normal sea sand and aragonite.
    Sea sand is silca
    Aragonite is ground up coral

    hey dude, the advantage of getting sand out of a running system is that you get the benefit of the life that it has gained with maturity.. the downside is you can inheret some of the problems aswell.. but this can be easily overcome in a new system

    the main + point over seasand is purely the life it will have in it, and that it will have established bacteria which will spread and populate your filters ..

    seasand can be used, most people prefer the look of aragonite, but thats a personal decision.

    i still have it , the best is for you to come and have a look and we can discuss, i will pm you my number, i am wanting to replace it with some finer sand so that i can have a nice mixture for my gobies... how much would you want?

    Im going to pull all out as my tank needs a major clean up.

    So i have 50kg available will sell all at R900 origional price for 50kg is R1150

    ok aragonite removed from system and stored in a 25kg bucket... anyone keen make me a reasonable offer..
