    Hi guys i went to Durban this weekend to collect my mates tank that he was getting rid of with all his stock ect. There were 2 x large snails that i got also i dont have enough algea for them to eat. Would like to swop for a frag not to fussy.

    looks like a local snail, possibly a predator as well?

    It is a Muricidae, Purpura Bufo
    Predator, they eat other snails.
    That one is not even fully grown.
    And yes, they are local, most likely that one too.

    feed it hake or clam, i would advise you not to put it up for sale or swap, give it away or you could get into some trouble.

    rather sump them. As mentioned you can try to feed them. They cannot go back into the ocean.
