I've done freshwater dips on my fish. My orange shoulder had black spot almost a year ago. After the dip you could actually see al the parasites on the bottom of the container. The ratio I used was one fith tank water with 4 fiths RO water. Leave the fish in there for no more then 5 minutes. About 3-4 min should be fine. Also after you finished just let the fish rest in tank water untill it's swimming and breating better. Don't get stressed if the fish is lying on it's side while you are doing the freshwater dip, this will happen.

Yes it is very stressful but is very effective.

I use them when ever i add a new fish or do any major work on tank to help and prevent stress related issues

My entire tank got black spot from a fish I got from Nelspruit. Only after I lost almost all my angels did I pick it up. Was no need to quarintine it as the entire tank was sick (did all the fish in the tank) all of the fish recovered (2 clowns, orange shoulder were left). It's a freshwater dip,not a baught product. In about a few hours the fish was a Ok an had no spots on it's body. This was the best I could do in short time as my location doesn't allow me to just go to a shop and buy meds.

I use Herbtana as a "preventative measure" when adding new fish . I also use it straight in the DT.

I have always felt that FW dips add more stress than worth, I know lots of guys have great success with dip method though
