So guys and girls , after countless evenings spent my diy led build is finally completed !!!

here goes me sharing my joy with you all ...

The biggest gripe people usually have is that the build lacks the esthetic qualities of a maxspect or a radion unit so my biggest considerations were to make the unit relatively presentable while getting performance and good service from it .

I used 40 leds from cree purchased

    18 x coolwhite XPG 5W R5 leds 8300k
    18 x royal blue XTE 3W leds
    4 x uv leds 15000k

    I used 4 meanwell drivers

I chose to use the 60 watt 48 volt dimmable ELN 60 48P DIMMABLE drivers as these gave more flexability to adjust the lighting to the individual strings of leds

I used the Typhon led controller

This controller interfaces really well with the meanwell powersupplies mentioned above

I acquired the leds , drivers and controller from rapidled

next the planning had to be done for mounting the leds , drilling the leds and mounting them to the heatsincs . I used a 2.5mm drillbit and 3 x 16mm chipboard screws . and mounted them with thermal paste . don't overtighten the leds .

next make sure you do some planning for wish leds you're stringing up to be driven by each of the drivers . After stringing the up in a daisy chain , make sure there aren't any short circuits between the soldering , the mounting chips for the leds and the heatsincs ... be carefull , the screws are quite close to the heatsinc chips of the leds
