Need some tubes for my 250mm deep frag tank. Light is 4X 24W tubes. What combination of tubes do you guys reckon for softies?

for softies you would want something around the 6500-10k range, geiseman midday, a aqua pink for reds/brown enchancement and gieseman aqua-blue plus, visible light is white but emiits a nice blend of blue/white PUR, maybe an actinic if u keeping the more colourful shrooms and rics

    Phillips 840 T5 tubes.
    Would they be OK @dallasg
    Saw them for about R45

For me, they seem to be in the same K rating as Gieseman Midday

those should be fine for growth, 4000k-6500k, must get cool white, the warm white has alot of red in the spectrum and algae loves that :)

I just got my first two frag tanks!! Dankie oom @FransSny

What would you guys advise lighting wise for the differnt groups??

Softies , Lps and Sps ??

    Both tanks are 120 x 400 x 290. So height is not a problem.

with that setup, u can get away with eighter 39w or 54w T5's
and about 2 per tank with 2-3 energy savers

i would go with 2 x 39w T5 and 3 x cool white energy savers and 2 blue energy savers, the twirly ones

    --------------------------------------- > 39w 10k
    E EB E EB E
    --------------------------------------- > 39w Coral blue
    Front

What blue energy savers are you refering to, the ones that literally have a blue colour on the tube or do they shine blue like acintic tubes?
