    hi daniella:)

welcome to masa its great to have you join.

sounds like youve had a tank a little while, why not tell us a little about the system and lets see if we can help you:)

what size is the tank? do you have any inverts, shrimps and things?
What fish do you have in there?
    what fish has white spot?

most importantly what did you dose the tank with and does it contain copper?

there are a number of hitchikers which come with the LR (do you have live rock and oif so how much?) that can hurt fish, crabs in particular but also mantis shrimps when they get bigger.

the description of your creatchure is a little inconclusive for me, could u maybe get us a pic? else google mantis shrimp and see if they are similar?

when you say you ahve taken it out, does than mean it was easy to catch lying on the sand? and where have you put it, in the sump or in a glass of tank water?

its great to have you join and sorry for all the '?' in there but the more we know the easier it is to give you good advice:)

    welcome and happy postings

It certainly sounds like some predatory larvae, but without at least a photograph it will be impossible to identify. I think you did the right thing by removing it from your tank.
