I have completed the forum upgrade but as you will see, many things need to be addressed, many of our previous addons are not compatible and need to be reinstalled, templates need to be modified etc. etc. Please bear with me as I complete this process, it shouldn't take me more than 1 week and we should be all back to normal again, thanks.

Yes I know the home page has disappeared, that will be my first task. :)

OK, in that case I will be back next week :whistling:

Seriously, though - I'm off into the veld again for the rest of this week, so I will only "see" you guys again on the weekend...

Good luck with the upgrade - and thanks for the effort you put into our forum

1.) You would be able to upload more than 01 pic simultaneously eg, same as when you want to upload 5 pics to photobucket, but bigger pixels pics.

2.) There will be a video upload function- straight to Masa, instead of going the Youtube route.

3.) you can edit other people's posts if it is posted on your thread:p

4.) You will be able to give infractions to admin/mods if they give you kaik:p

5.) The Masapedia information will be complete.

6.) There will be a full database wrt anything in your tank to be able to help newbies (as well as all reefers around the world) to identify some coral/critter/fish

7.) Smileys will be sorted eg, the ones that gets used less- the mushroom, diamond and big round ones (these ones- :2tongue: :1nerd:  ), will be removed from the smiley list (those bigger ones that does not look like smileys), meaning you don't need to wait for all the smileys to load to scroll down to the bottom of the page to get to the good ones

8.) You will have access to a lot of free online Aquarist books with the click of a button, written by all the important people in reef keeping

9.) You can use the word "sh.t" again, but it will be replaced with the "sh.t" smiley

10.) When you register, your hometown entry will be compulsory, meaning, if you do not type in your hometown, the registration process will not be complete. And you cannot lie, because the site will be able to read your IP address.

Hope this helps your question Lanzo.

Btw, there will be more functions as well, but it will only be revealed in the next couple of weeks;)

While on this one, why not when I do open the my image library, open it by default on the last page, not the first. Also put a search function on the pictures, where I can put a date and then show me the pictures posted from that date onward. Safe me from clicking and clicking each page to find the pick I'm looking for. ;)

And another option, can I split my image folder in two? And I can redirect pictures I really do not want, and cannot for the hell of it remember why I even hosted that picture, I can put them in the Boo-Boo bin. So that I have my best pictures in one container - "My Photo Album". You can allow access to "My Boo-Boo Bin".

The images do open up on the last page, I changed that a while ago.

Unfortunately the image uploader is a very basic image tool, it's a kind of 'upload it and forget it' type of thing. We can not make any changes or improvements to it and will more than likely disable it as guys are using it to upload junk pictures and all it's doing is clogging up and slowing down our server.

I am trying to see if I can get our other site ReefClips.net: Reef Aquarium Image & Video Gallery to somehow work together with the forum but that's going to be a long hard road, for now you guys are more than welcome to use reefclips.net to upload your images, it works almost similar to photobucket but it's a bit more basic.

A new feature, Members individual photo albums, will be available by the end of the week.

Dean says Mr Koekemoer needs to shut his mouth. :p

Thanks, do you mean if you change the text colours in a quote?

    Never going to happen.

    Ummmm, Never going to happen

    Are you volunteering?

    Google it.

Yes, I've been meaning to trim down the smilies. I shall put that on my 'to do' list.

I tried that and got some rather rude complaints, one member even told me to remove his membership and delete all of his posts as he does not want to belong to a forum that forces you to enter your location.

Stop being so helpful, nobody cares.
