    Hi all :)

I came home tonight and noted that the flesh on the edge of the polyp by the skeleton on my torch coral is turning brown - like it is dying and receding.

Anyway I dipped the coral and this came off

    What is that? :cursing:

whatever is causing it its not the worm......

give more details on your system etc. When a head is damaged they are very susceptible to infection and can die very quickly, coral dips in coral RX etc can assist in killing the infection depending on how far gone the coral is. Infection spreads quite quickly from head to head and to other lps colonies.

Was the head damaged when you got it? Are the condition in you tank correct?

also remember the flesh does recede as the head grows.....

    Hi archie,

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Parameters:
    PH: 8.2
    KH: 11 dkh
    CA: 443 ppm
    NO3: 2 ppm
    PO4: 0.02 ppm
    Salinity: 1.025
    Temp: 24.2 to 24.6

Just finished dipping all my lps. I use Seachem Reef dip. Will look into Coral Rx.

I do not know if the coral was damaged when I got it. Within the 1st 3 months, a number of heads just disintegrated. The 2 heads that remain have grown in size since Feb.

Please let me know if you need more pics or info.

Thanks again for thee feedback
