    Hey Guys,
This is my skimmer, I bought it second hand.

...problem is the foam that is going into the cup is staying very foamy and taking very long to turn to liquid!!! the skimmer is 1.2m tall and is running on an ocean runner 3500, is this pump too small?????, you can see where I have extended the pipes on the left to increase height of the water level coz old level was too low?

Brent - You don't have that skimmer for very long, even though it is 2nd hand. I would suggest to give it some time. It "needs to work itself in" still..... Before you go change pumps or anything else - give the skimmer another 2 weeks or so.... then let's "talk" again ;)

Cool jacques, what did you call this skimmer?
It's been running since january though???
Why does the foam take so long to turn to liquid??? the cup is litterally full of foam at anytime and only a cm or 2 of gunk???

I would buy the bubble blaster 5000 pump and stick it on. It uses less electricity than the OR and draws in ALOT more air.

You reckon this will sort the problem out??
I'm guessing if it blows more bubbles I can lower the water level back to it's original height?

Yes I recon it will help with that too but with the new pump you should get much better skimming. Bear in mind those OR pumps were made a good many years ago. Don't get me wrong they are great pumps I have 3 running that I got second hand 3 years ago. I just know the reef octo range is much better from the skimmers I have...
