    Hello All,

New to this forum but not new to marines, have been trying on and off for 10 years to keep marines with limited success. I want to upgrade to the red sea max system, any tips on this as to where i can get it and if its worth the money?

I am form Mpumalanga so choices are limited and any advice will be appreciated.

    Romano

Hi there, the Red Sea Max 130D and 250 are very decent marine setups, they do cost a bit but they are pretty much plug and play systems. Not sure where the closest is to you, have a look through our sponsors, or you can click on the Red Sea banner to email them and ask them where your closest stockist is.

Hi, I like the RSM tanks, very easy, and complete, I find the heater doesnt keep up in winter, but replace it and your fine, the replacement parts are pricy though.

The filter could use a few additives - Puregen Or another type of filter media , but there isnt much space for allot of charcole for instance.

This pic is of a tank used to Quarenteen , so not too pritty.
    But lights are great .
Skimmer works well, but there is a new upgrade venturi as the first one somtimes throughs in allot of bubbles.
there is a atachment bracket for the chiller if you need one, i think it does build up allot of heat in summer
though so check where you want to put it.

The price also went down a little recently, so you could pick them up for about 8 - R8500 if your lucky.

Hello again to all MASA friends, i have now got myself a Red sea max 130d thanks to Sidney, he was a great help. Now i just need to get back to Sa in Oct and then will set it up and post some pics. Think the wife will be happy as Im sure it will be a lot less hassle than our current system.
Thanks again for all advice and words of wisdom.
