Looking at American setups, a lot of them like to use white flexible pipes. Cut out the need for elbows. I saw similar pipes at Builders warehouse but on a Spa Bath. From the pump to the jets, so the pipes and clamps can handle pressure.

What the name of these pipes?
And where in Gauteng can I get it?
Anybody got any experience with them?

Hi Riaan I've replaced my piping with these pipes with no problems only I used clear ones so that i can see flow at the back - I managed to get most sizes at our local Mica hardware store with t-pieces and clamps as well - a little pricey but no "leaky spots" - very pleased and the guys say that it can handle quite a bit of pressure coz used alot in agriculture and ppl in the engineering industry also used them on the machinery -

they can definatley be used but never apealed to me beacause of the tidiness aspect.. they do eliminate alot of unnecessary work and the need for glue and elbows.. id use it on the return line to make sure i get maximum flow from my pumps but id personally plumb from the overflow to the sump with PVC..

Be careful of clear pipes, as it allows coralline and other creatures to get light and hence thrive in this enviroment and can cause blockages.

The white pipe the Yanks use, stops this from happening.

They grow in almost anything. I cleaned my chiller over the weekend and it was full of fan worms etc.

Yes I though about it. Algae in the clear pipes. But it would be nice to be able to see what is going on inside a Closed Loop system.
