    Spiny Eye or Tapered Line Cardinal Fish (Apogon sp)

    Definitely a cardinal, I have one that looks similar. Here is a pic of ones I had, only kept one.

    Though the markings are different and either its a big fish or a small hand - looks to 302 Found but size not making sense

    I think we have a larger species, the one I kept is about the size of four fingers, though our markings seem more intense and vibrant. You need to feed your fish V.:whistling:

    Apogon kallopterus. One of the more common local species. Gets big, for a cardinal.

    Thanks for all the input guys and gals.... Thank you @Lord_Blackadder for the correct id. Already in the tank and happy.
    Crispin, saw the rugby but went fish hunting just before the rugby at hightide, got some lekka fish
