    Hi guys

Planning on starting my first marine reef tank. Have a fresh water Malawi cichlid tank for a few months and still learing. The fresh water tank is going well though. Planning on starting a reef tank but currently know nothing. Would like to start big, but since it will be very expensive, I will still be doing a lot of reading before I start.

Seems like there is more than enough information on this site to keep me busy for some time

welcome jefferra nice to have you join:)

marines are facinating and so much motre rewarding that fresh water (imho) and once you start off there really is no looking back:)

but marines are challenging, especially if youve doen bath water tanks for a while and think fish are easy. its a steep learning curve and i for one really battled to keep up in the beginning, even though i thought i understood Nitrogen and the way its converted in natural systems. So my advice is to read alot on here, there is a massive amount of info and try break each topic down. take one at a time and if you come up with ANY question you arent absolutley certain of then as masa and we will do all we can to help you along. that way once you start off with marines you will have a good background in the theory and thus a far better chance of success. take your time and read, knowledge really is power:)

best of luck and holla if you need any help :)

sheees you can still shop on a credit card???? I have to have meetings with bank manager before i visit a LFS. or the minister of finance, but i only chat to her late evenings after softening her up with Pinotage before submitting import purchases:)
