well hello there DAmba, really great to have you join MASA :)

even better to hear you have your tank already :)

what sort of tank is it, what size and what equipment do you have, its always exciting to be getting new tanks :)

have you kept a marine tank before?

the best thing to do is browse through the many very good threads in the beginners section. If you cant find that dont stress, tobes will point you there :)

also have a look at some of the members threads, there really are some great tanks and reefers on MASA and by reading what they have done you get the advantage of MASA's collective experience:)

Also ask as many questions as you can, anything that isnt quite clear in you mind just ask. We even have a "private section"on MASA for guys who are unsure of themselves and want a select group of people look at the question so as not bto be embaressed:)

HAPPY posting and better, lets get that tank fulled cycled and ready :)

A VERY WARM WELCOME to MASA, Damba! Great to have you on-board! Awesome that you have found and joined MASA!

Crispin has beat me this time in giving some awesome advice! ;)

What I would like to add - please keep the following in mind, w.r.t keeping a marine tank:
    - Having a LOT OF PATIENCE is key in this hobby - only BAD THINGS HAPPEN FAST - so, please be prepared to wait it through - the sea is millions of years old - you are trying to recreate the sea in your house........ Cycling the tank takes time..... adding lifestock takes time..... everything takes time....
    - Rather TRY and be patient, and TRY and get the best skimmer, pumps, lighting that you can afford - we can advise on brands and models for you, for your specific tank - but, in the end, it is STILL you that needs to purchase the stuff.....
    - PLEASE READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! And ASK as many questions as you can - BEFORE you add lifestock to the tank. As only with knowledge can your 1st marine setup be a success!
    - Please don't just believe what the local fish/pet store (LFS) tell's you - ALWAYS come and double check things here - we do NOT have any financial gain in giving you advice. As we stand neutral, we ONLY want to see that your lifestock that you keep, is given the ABSOLUTE BEST chance of surviving, and living to a ripe old age!

Good luck with the hobby! And remember: There is NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION!

Another thing - we can ONLY really share your story and your passion, through photographs, so please post as many as possible!

Enjoy your journey into marines, mate! Keeping marines becomes a LIFESTYLE!
