others will hate me for saying this, but damsels can make good startes, 1 a month, or maybe 2, just so your filters can grow and accomodate

Hi Sandlewood - investigate the following:
    - gobies
    - blennie's
    - chromis

Fish that I would say is slightly more intermediate (or at least the tank should be more aged):
    - pygmy angels (ie. bicolor angels, coral beauty's, flame angels, potter's angels, eibli angels)
    - tangs (ALL)
    - niger triggers

    Fish you STAY AWAY FROM:
    - cleaner wrasses
    - butterfly fish
    - moorish idols
    - pipefish
    - sea horses

Maybe a sixline wrasse or a firefish or even a midas blenny. Just don't get a midas blenny and a firefish together as the midas blenny will make the little firefish's life hell. Some sixline wrasses can be bullies too. How big is your tank?

If I was you I would have a look at all the fish you like and then research each and everyone to determine how big they'll get, requirements, etc... Maybe try making a wish list of fish and work from there.
