I have started my first marine aquarium and am researching which would be suitable fish to add to my tank. The hardy fish (clowns and damsels) seem to be aggressive so im not sure what ii a good option to start with. Can anyone suggest hardy and non aggressive fish to begin with? So far all iv come up with is the Chromas viridus...

    I must add,my tank is only 190litres.......

Clowns aren't aggressive, i heard it's only the tomato clowns you must check out for.

I have 4 clowns in my tank 2 different types, and they all fine with each other, all 4 swim together etc.

Damsels are aggressive, but the blue-green chromis is fine.

Get a Halichoeres wrasse if you have a sand bed. Lots of species to choose from, just avoid the checkerboard because it gets huge. Banana, pinstripe, dusky...many others. Very hardy and peaceful. Just don't freak out if it hides under the sand for the first few days, it's quite normal.

That cuts down your options a lot. Wrasses, gobies, dartfish and blennies (amongst others) all like to jump.

First look at a basic cleanup crew, crabs, snails and maybe a lawnmower blennie. Let them settle a bit then you can look at clowns (love the way they move) and chromis or anthias. I would say they are good to start with and bring a bit of color to your tank.

I liked my lawnmower blennie when I got him. Very interesting face and a bit of a attitude unfortunately he decided to move on to his next life. Getting another one next weekend.

My first was a Banggai Cardinal. Peaceful, beautiful and if you get two you they may breed.
