Hey Guys,

I bought a Fire shrimp yesturday the LFS told me that they are rare and peacefull ...
My question is he is massive about 5cm long and is the biggest thing in my tank (boyu TL550)
and im worried he attacks my little guys ... would he ? I have seen forums when i did a search saying that they attack fire gobies ?

I also have very small:
3 clown fish 4cm
1 Bangai tiny
1 fire gobie 4 cm
1 devided wrass 4cm
1 cleaner shrimp 3cm

My other question is , will the fish in my tank will live in harmony ?

Thanks

Hi Gareth,
Welcome to MASA, i've not heard of fire shrimps attacking, boxer shrimps yes, but fire shrimp no, they are a type of cleanershrimp so they should be beneficial to the fish in your tank.

They might be a little crowded, i would look to upgrade to a larger tank if possible.

What species of clowns do you have?

Do you test your tank water? if yes, for what?

I hope you don't mind the questions:)

I test for PH, Alk,amounium ,nitrate,nitrite,sg,temp and calcium ...

My tank is a couple days short of six weeks old .
standard clowns Amphiprion ocellaris Why ?

My tank is 135Ltrs ,is that still small ?
I am also in about 2 weeks want to start adding colour (shrooms etc...)
Will I be able to with all that fish ?

Thanks

Wow, you have moved very quickly for a 6 week old tank, have all the tests come back right?

I just wondered as some of the clown species can get quite big, the oscellaris are probably the most peaceful, so no probs.

The tank is quite small for that many fish, you will need to ensure your husbandry is spot on.

Adding corals won't affect your perameters, and will look good too.

Getting mature water and rock should prevent a cycle, but from your results it looks like you have a mini cycle going on due to moving the rocks i would imagine (you can unlock trpped detritus) but not to worry.

Do you run a phosphate remover? you should do, prevention is better than cure and P04 is lethal to fish and inverts.

You carbonate hardnees is a little low, but the calc and mag are fine so be careful if you try to adjust it.

Looks go though mate, have fun.

P.s. we like pictures ;)
