Finaly salty fingers! my first tank

    wel 40x40x40cm cube with sump and 1000lph return pump and 150w jager heater. getting a skimmer end of the month and lights also. used finely crushed coral. need to get some LR now hehe super excited

    thanx :) will got 4 small pieces of LR. will get more at the end of the month. also looking to get a small bubble magnus skimmer end of the month

    got a small light unit and only 4 small pieces of rock. will get skimmer and more rock end of the month

    so getting liverock 1kg at a time. need to get a skimmer next weekend but still dont know witch one i want? budget is severely limited

    looking great so far... since there is very little next to none bio-load i wouldn't worry about the skimmer too much at least for the next two weeks or so.

    thanx still would like to get the skimmer. going to need one any way. been looking at a bubble magnus skimmer. costs 1300? can get a ts1 also 2nd hand. stilk need to get like more live rock also. wil prbably get more tomorrow

    looking really good. The slower you go the better but easier said than done :) . Ill add 2 thirds of the total live rock you want to add , first.Then add the skimmer. You will be adding live rock every time you buy a coral. By adding all your live rock at once you can get the cycle going and give your tank time to mature while you save/wait to get the skimmer. Dose a bit of Stability or Special blend while you cycle your tank and it will also help with the fact that you don't have a skimmer yet during the cycle. Just don't add livestock before the skimmer. A good skimmer will go a long way so rather save a few extra hundred rand than buy something you'll need to upgrade after a month or wont work. But you are off to a great start. keep the pics coming.

    so this tank will already be shut down and sold. but not to worry. converting my 2,4m tank to marine. drilling and fitting overflow and return next week en next weekend it will get wet

    Wow it was such a beauty but damn I can't wait to see it as a marine tank. Have you let the planted guys know yet? Hope you did it slowly haha. Pics pls of the progress!
