looking great :) i would suggest adding individual reflectors to each of those light tubes, it makes a massive difference to the light that the corals get in the water. also use individual reflectors rather than one sheet of reflective material behind them as this gives the best results.

nice to see u on your way and well done on getting test kits before LS, so many people dont and it leads to problems later on. Best of luck with the tank

Real nice, like your light idea, yip some reflectors will do great.
One question, did you grout the mosaic tiles? if so you will see the grout popping out with time.

    Thank You guys..

The lights are housed in a black top - on each side of the tank is a glass rail (6mm) that works like a slide would work, so I can move each light left or right at any time..I will add some more pics to give you a better idea 2time.also, the photos do not show it, but the top is closed with sliding glasses, coverd with ABS Leather-look plastic. when they are closed, the light in the setup is almost double than what the photos show

I used a grout that I bought from Builders, apparently it is ideal for application near salt water use(coast etc.)also, the grout is on the black acrilic paint at the top of the setup, so its not grout on glass.. lets see if it holds!

The test kits were No.1 on my list, I actualy bought a complete test kit, it comes in a little plactic carry box but the supplier was out of stock, so they gave me the individuals.. I have Nitrate, Nitrite , Ammonia, Alkalinity and PH

Wow what a lovely build. Would you mind me asking a personal question of how much has everything cost you up until now without live rock, fish or corals please? You can private message me if you need confidentiality :whistling:

    Otherwise awesome tank buddy

Nice and thanks for sharing the price. I was just interested so I could compare it to my 8k tank which is much smaller but still.....:(

I guess living in a house is better as well. Consider I live in a 2 bedroom flat so my space restricts me quite a bit. Water change was also fun so far

:whistling: - I have read the thread on your tank Shaun, and its still impressive... this is a big-ish tank, but size is not all that matters - its more about the commitment towards the tank, towards the animals that you will be caring for etc.. (my own opinion)
