After far too much deliberating and delay... I finally took the plunge today! Can't wait until the tank arrives tomorrow evening...

Thanks to MASA (awesome resource!), and to posters of the many inspiring threads that have kept me rivited over the past couple of weeks - much appreciated.

    Thanx!

Had our previous tank (1.2w-0.6d-0.9h) six years, but it was a design disaster and consequently quickly became a nightmare to keep our critters comfortable. Way too many night excursions to collect water @ Brighton, before lugging up flights of stairs for emergency water changes... Despite this, wife and I really enjoyed our ill-conceived bargain, and have missed having a tank during the past decade while settling into new home.
Key issues related to lighting (and consequent temp), inability to add sump (suspended floor in budget sectional title!), access... but mostly budget and ignorance :)

Decided new tank had to be less schlepp to maintain, and smaller due to space contraints. Plenty of time to enjoy sw and learn more and to plot our way to something large and custom :)
RSM 250 fit those requirements for us, specs are online at Red Sea MAX 250 | Specification

Original idea was to cycle through to Jan, then add a critter each month. This changed today as we got a great deal from R&R on the display tank, which was too good to pass up!
General concensus appears to be that this tank is well conceived offering good value, but with tendancy to get hot, limited upgrade options and a skimmer with limitations...
