hello everyone, here are pictures of my tank and a bit of info
my tank is 1.5m x 1m x 600mm(height),10mm starfire glass,my sump consists of 3 parts and is 1.4m x 450mm,i dont have a dsb and have live rock instead.all this was built by idol marine.in the DT i have about 60kg of live rock and about 20kg in my sump,my substrate is Carib Sea sugar fine aragonite but i need more.flow in my tank is done by two Vortech's mp40 gen 2,skimming is done by a Reef Octopus 5000int bubble blaster and my return pump is a Reef Octopus water blaster HY5000W,heating is done by two Jager 300w heaters,i dont have a lighting unit yet(need cash).Tank is about 3 months old,i have added two percula clowns a week ago,1 true perc and 1 false.i have started my tank on Sea-chem pure reef salt.this is my first marine tank by the way, please mind bad photos not a photographer.

Awesome setup and equipment. Just like me you should not have gone for the sugar fine aragonite. My vortech kicks the sand up no matter how I place it.

The tank should look great when fully stocked!!
At a meter wide, you wont have over stocking problems.

    Hi Iced,

You have a great sized tank there!!

IMHO with the stocking levels that a tank like that can have i would look at adding additional filtration in some form or another be that a DSB (which i would personally choose) or an ATS or NP Pellets or zeolith etc, there is no hard and fast rule as to what option is right, i just think you may find yourself lacking in filtration capacity as the stocking levels increase.

i was going to go with a dsb, created a nice size space for one in my sump but i was looking at the setup at Idol Marine which has alot of stock but no dsb,NP Pellets is my alternate choice

great looking tank man ... take ur time ... no need to rush things ... just a q, noticed the curtains, do sunlight get through there ?

if so, i would say use the natural sunlight until u can afford lighting ...

Very VEry nice boet. I have a tank amlost the same just that mine is slightly narrower, but the one thing that worries me about your tank is the glass thickness as 100 starfire in that size is very much on the skimpy side IMO. Other than that you have started with one moerse nice settup there I love that skimmer and that silicon job is awsome

thanks,it already has started with the smiles with the addition of my yellow tang,it already has started with the tears as well when the filter sock on the inlet water pipe from the tank into the sump became loose and floated into the hole that allows water to flow through the sump, the sump over flowed onto my carpets, luckily i was at home and managed to pull the sock out before it became a serious problem
