Finally I caught this guy after 3 years

    Please help me ID this guy I have finally caught him from a rock I got 3 years ago. Is he good or bad... I sumped him at the moment with another hitch hiker crab...

    3 years and no other damage.
    I doubt he is a baddie

    I had one like that long time ago. Maybe a bit more white. Run around my sump for a while.

    I have a similar crab currently in my display - caught a glimpse of him the other night when I was scouting in the dark. Would be interesting to hear some opinions on them - to date I have not had any known issues with him.

    He was the size of my finger nail when I first saw him now he is 6 x bigger was getting worried if he would start eating my smaller hermits

    I don't get to see him ever either ... but at night he could be causing havoc ... all those missing fish without a trace .. who knows

    crabs are opportunists, even the "reef safe" ones, they will take the easiest food, sessile inverts or sleeping fish...
    even the "reef safe" sally light foot can eat fish etc

    Most of them, they're just an opportunistic/predatory bunch. It's a big family, though there aren't 572 living species though, a lot are described from fossils.

    Lybia spp. are ok. :whistling:
