run some carbon , and if a lot of the dead anemone went into teh tank the skimmer should handle it , id do a water change as well

no i dont think that will be enough.

firstly what sort of anenome was it? bubble tip, heractis or sand anenomie?

i would do 20% water changes every two days for atleast 5 days, if things turn nasty they go very bad very fast.

what filtration do you have. as in all of it, the skimmer (what make) how much LR, how big is a dsb?

if you dont run carbon you really need to now. so simple to do, simply place it in a sock or old stocking in the sump and let water pass through it. I would impliment that right away.

how big is the tank and how much LS do you have in there?

run the skimmer very wet and clean it out regularly, certainly for the first two days

Eish...you going to get a hammering for crispen now.......NO SUMP!( canister filter:nono:)

Crispen sorted you on the right route....Massive Wc needs to be done over a couple of days and running carbon will pull out the impurities.

your ammonia is going to rocket now....(so you dont have nennie soup now?)...you took it out before that?

ok thats going to make life much harder for you. Its a small vollume tank so the effect of any pieces of nennie (there will be sections you cant see!) will have a BIG effect.

no sump is difficult too as you dont have great filtration there.

how long do you guess from when the nenie first went into the filter before you saw it?

carbon is a really good idea, i would even have it in my Display tank at the moment.

have you tested water yet? amonnia, N02 and No3? please do and so so regularly its your only way of knowing what is going on with the chemistry in that tanks and that is extremely important for the other inhabitants you have in there.

you didnt tell us what else you have in there, please do...

I am very sorry to see such a beautiful nennie die, im sorry for your loss

Too late now, but are you sure it was dead? BTAs are well known for surviving being shredded by filters and power heads.

actually i did a big mistake

animone was not dead also was not shreded

a peace of it was inside the pipe of the filter and the rest was alive outside

i threw it all out and changed 15 % of the water

i will remove the filter within a week

i will recieve my sump next saterday

i will move media from filter an put it in sump and will run it directly

    thanks for care animone

Yikes! Wish we would have known this sooner. This anemone would have likely recovered. Since it was still alive, the water quality is not going to be affected by the anemone.
