Thanks folks for yr welcome !

unfortunately my tank is not ready for a photo as at this moment I am in the middle of the battle against the hair algae !! this pest has devastated my corals !!
I will take tomorrow some pictures of the few corals that still alive.
After a several months of mechanical cleaning of the algae, I started abt 2 weeks ago the use of the Algaefic Marine to kill this pest. I got a lot of bad comments of this product but for me is working very slowly !!
my tanks is 150 glns reef with a sump/refugium of abt 75 glns with chaetomorpha.
I have the following equipments running the system:
    1) 1/2 hp chiller to maintain the temperature 24/26 °C separate pump iwaki 55rlt
    2) lighting: MH 250W of 20K Radium + 2 fluorescent VHO actinic of 48 inches 110W
    each.
    3) circulation: iwaki 100rlt with the SQ4 device.
    4) returning pump from sump to the aquarium: little giant 4mdxqs
    5) Precission marine calcium reactor.
    6) Aqua C 240EV skimmer

    that´s all folks.

    Regards
    Fernando C.

mmmm a teaser.. nice way to create suspence.. fernando dont be shy to post pics.. its nice to reflect back on what you have achieved and how you got through your various problems.. not to mention that it could become a valuable reference to a new aquarist struggling with simular problems..

no pressure post when you are comfortable to do so.. unill then i will wait in suspence;)

    Hi folks !

Here is my third photo took last saturday. the algae situation is much better than before. However I lost a lot corals and fishes as a consequence of the invasion of the hair algae and some other external factors. Now everything is more or less under control but still fighting.

    Regards
    Fernando

    Hi Tony !

thanks for yr advice however I will continue the use of the algaefix marine as presently is working slowly. most of the hair algae has gone except for some areas with very little growing on the side panels. By the way what is the Prodicio ? is a liquid type like the algae fix marine ? and where you can buy the Prodibio !

    Regards
    Fernando C.

    Hi Leslie !

Yes my reef is a bare bottom type, I prefer not to have any sand in order to control better the cleaning of the tank also I have part of the flow circulation directed to the bottom in order to help to remove the detritus. Works OK for me !!

    Regards

Fernando. Where are you based? You can order the stuff on line. Just google the word and go to their web site and there are tons of suppliers in the States and UK. Unfortunately we don't have an agent here is SA
