    Hi All,

I have had 3 chromis in my tank now for quite a while (my first fish) and they go crazy for any food added to the tank.

I recently got some perc clowns but finding it hard to feed them as any food in the water gets snatched by the chromis and worried they not getting enough (see them get 1 or 2 pieces)

I've tried putting some egg crate in the tank to divide them from the clowns with limited success but also worried about stressing everyone out.

Does anyone have some advise on feeding speedy eaters as well as slow ones at the same time?

Also up until now I have just been feeding frozen foods (mysis, brine, roe) - is this a problem and should I be looking at flaked foods as well? I have some omega pellets but havent tried them again cause they are very hard I find, or should I just soak them first?

    Thanks in advance
    Neil

Hi Neil the clowns will be eating otherwise they will come up and get food. Maybe just feed a pinch more so that some will get to the clowns.

I'm with Alan. Feed a little extra so it isn't eaten up in the first few seconds. I have chromis and those buggers are fast

My clown also had a bit of a struggle with the faster fish, so I stared placing flakes in the return chamber of my sump. The return pump blows the food all over the show and so the clowns got some food. Now my Clowns are the greedy ones take the food before the other fish.

Maybe phosphates rocketed due to an OD on the food?

No dont think so cause I did see the guy getting some food.

Not sure really, I have started a different thread on this as I seem to have had a bad run with fish lately :( but looks as if it could have been me dosing kalk incorrectly or the clown could have been infected which took my 1 chromis down with it (BIG SIGH!!).
