Hey guys, I just want to know what are you guys feeding your Flame Angels.

I got mine about two weeks ago and he doesn't want to eat any frozen foods or dried marine algae at this stage.

He is grazing all the time and looks very healthy.

all you can do is provide food for him to pick at at his leasure, but i would keep offering variety of the foods more natural to him (frozen, meaty foods) untill he can be shifted to flakes and pellets.. i know its not always possible but try see the fish yo are wanting to buy feeding at your LFS.. do not buy fish in an attempt to rescue them..

Yip as Leslie has said. Feed him a variety of foods and he should learn to adapt quite soon. Fish learn quickly what is edible when they see other fish eating flakes etc. What fish do you have in your tank with the flame. Are they chasing him away from the food by any chance? If so, try and feed a bit more so that he gets a chance to get some as well.

A while back I heard that the guys were battling with flame angels and were losing them for no apparent reason. Let's hope this one is strong and lives to grow nice and big:thumbup:

Just to add. My flame eats everything I offer him from flakes, pellets, all frozen foods and he hovers around the bigger fish and gets quite a few pieces of nori as well:)

I also heard that Andreas, hope mine will be o.k.But like I said he is doing fine at the moment as he is grazing of the live rock.....all the fish in my tank are peaceful towards each other.None of them will dominate the Flame when it's feeding time.

maybe he just has enough on the rocks...my yellow tang and coral beauty did not take any food i gave them for the first year! but they fattened up leka and eventually they started eating flakes once there was not enough on the rocks...as long as he is healthy and full of energy its fine...if not then try seachem entice works well.

My flame angels eat everything as well. They do tend to take a while to settle into the new environment. It does help if your other fish already eat pellets. The other new fish normally pick up what they need to do pretty soon. I do make my own mixture of frozen food which my fish love.

yeah i thought they were dumb/abnormal as all the other fish recognized ANY food and went ballistic in the tank at feeding time but these two would swim by it like its business as usual....:p
