okay, i could be stoned for this, but question - i have a small dam(very clean) right by my house and Talarpia (Curpa) bread quite prolifically in it. they small so wont be to big.

will my anem take it, and if so is it okay to feed freshwater fish?

Thanks so much for your time

    Bruce

BTW (Anem is looking stunning - will post pics later - thanks for all your help Brenda)

The anemone would likely take it. However, it probably isn't the best option. I personally wouldn't take the chance. To many unknowns. Stick to the seafood.

    Looking forward to seeing pictures!

i would stick with things they find more in their natural surroundings for their diet. otherwise you may fe feeding it but it may not be getting any proper nutritional value out of the food, or the type it requires anyway.

You need to be cautious with feeding non-marine sources of food to marines. One example where this is a well understood problem is with feeding goldfish to lionfish. Goldfish contain thiaminase, which causes long term nutritional problems in lionfish. It's conceivable there could be a similar poor reaction between a freshwater fish and a marine cnidirian.

Hahaha, lol at henks yoda impression.

But seriously guys. Tilapia is illegal. They are hectically invasive and a nightmare to get out of a system. Unless its a completely closed system your really shouldnt be introducing these guys...

tilapia, bass, trout, carp yes yes all illegal and invasive but what joys to catch.

ps: please do not put them into any bodies of water as almost all the water bodies here in GP have them

Ziyaab do you know that the fine for catch and release is R100 000 and/or 10 years in prison?

yo henk please elaborate on the catch and release part and the fine cos in all the fishing mags catch and release is preached and there has never been a mention of a fine or imprisonment? plus at all bass and carp fishing comps all the fish caught are released im sure that whoever is fining can make millions at a comp as there are hundreds of fish released.
