Feeding a recirculating skimmer

    I am busy planning a new setup, I plan on eventually running 2 skimmers, both with the same rating (each bigger than total volume), a recirculating and an in-sump (First the in sump, then later adding the recirculating). Now for the question, what is the best way to feed the recirculating skimmer, directly from an overflow or from the sump, busy thinking about my sump design?

    Personally i prefer feeding my recirc skimmer with a seperate feed pump (to avoid water level fluctuation in the skimmer).
    What recirc skimmer you planning?

    At the moment I'm considering either the Reef Octopus DNW-200 or OCTX-200-EXT, any other recommendations?

    Well for value for money,defniatley the Reef Octopus range :)

    for the dnw 200

    i'll go for the HX-6530 or HX-6540

    Or a Lifetech 1000lph pump.They work wonders.

    I agree, feed the external skimmer with a pump.

    Hi bra like mek said 1000lt pump is perfect eheim does the 1000lt pumps and they very silent and economical to run with a adjustment
