Faulty Giesmann

Guys, I purchased a 54watt Giesmann T5 tube about 2 weeks ago. By day 3 i noticed that there was a difference in brightness. 11 days later, its only about 10% of its original brightness!! Could a faulty ballast cause this? The tube has been replaced, im just a bit concerned that this could happen again if the ballast is indeed the culprit..

Anyone ever had a similar experience?

How many tubes are running off of the ballast? Most ballast these days run 2 and if the problem is not on both tubes I would reckon its tube. Maybe there was a small "gas leak" in the tube?

Its a single ballast, so i can only run 1 tube off it.. I tested the replacement on the same ballast, looks fine, im just afraid of the same thing happening again..
