Energy Efficient Systems

Whats the prices on all these three pumps lanzo so we can compare them like that too

looks like electricity will only go up 35% over 3 years, i am sure that what i heard on the news

yip, i heard wrong, thanks butcherman
Eskom wanted a 35% price hike each year for the next three years.

what do you guys think of this for saving electricity?
deltec eco cooler

It will work great in the Northern Cape, pretty good in Bloemfontein, slightly less so in Johannesburg, and pretty poorly in Durban - it works on evaporative cooling, and thus needs pretty dry air to improve evaporation. I doubt if it will be up to Durban's humid, hot summers...

Lanzo,

You can also use solar panels to charge the batteries, provided your inverter/ charger has the required inputs
thats why its called off the grid system, don't confuse this with a ups.

it will use the solar panel when the supply adequetly the switch elec. supply.

My 2 cents. If you'r concerned about power usage, the tank uses what the tank uses. I'm with Riaan on this and a similar approach. No tv between 17:00 & 20:00. Family can pull up their deck chairs infront of tank. Works for me. For added savings lose the hair dryer and for drastic measures the kettle too.

Yes a tank uses what a tank uses, but that being said wouldn't you want to make sure that your tank is not wasting energy. for example some people have their sumps outside, can insulate the sump if they live if colder areas to minimize heat loss. another example is if you can afford a pump that uses less power but has the same output shouldn't that be the the way to go. these are a few examples I'm sure other people can think of a few more ways to make a tank run more efficiently.

Hi,
