Every December I top up on certain products that the systems requires to keep going, just to get the feel around I was wondering who else does the same thing.
I will need the following in the next month or so:
2 x Deniballs R600
2 x Antiphos Fe R600
2 kg zeovit zeomag magnesium granulate R500
20 kg Hydrocarbonate R1000
2 x life A R350
3 kg Kent Coral builder R900
2 x TM calcium and magnesium test kits R800
2 x red sea KH test kits R300
3 kg kalkwasser R400
2 kg Kent Biosedemint R300
kent Max products R700
The total is over R6000 ,and to think that its all just products.

I only worked this out this morning and believe me I was shocked .The problem is I cant run the system sufficiently without these products.
Please note each product price is what I assume I will pay these days, so this is not an actual price list.

but you do raise a very interesting question as to what people need to dose to have a top class sps dominated tank. thats a hectic list and a nasty price tag, but will last an age i should think, just tough to fork out all at once

Why do you do it in December? Might come across as being selfish to the wife.

If I do that I might as well shut down as I cannot see myself looking at pink rock and fishies all the time. And I will prolly have to spend on products anyway to get that damm pink rock looking good.

David - you are now calculating things that you purchase ALL IN ONE TIME.....

I have probably already spent that JUST the last two or three months to get some LIFE back into my tank ;)

BUT - no - I do not spend THAT much on additives on my tank. BUT - as every one said - THAT is most likely the cost of having such an AWESOME TANK as you have! In the end - it's worth it....

Standard Calcium Hydroxide, BP grade. Been using it for ages.

Seriously, I want to change all my T5's, which should set me back R 2,500.00 :whistling:
