Hi these are not Montiporas. the growth is normal and can accelerate or slowdown depending on conditions the first picture is heliopora/blue coral and the second looks to be either a fire coral or perhaps a porites

Don't know but, it looks like the corals in your tank is doing good. Can't see any reson for it not to do well.

Are all the pics taken under the same lighting?
I still thing its heliopora, @Achilles has it in his tank (plus his knowledge of corals) so will be able to give a pretty good id.

That is a heliopora definately...u can see from the structure and physical appearance. The blue skeleton is also a good indication that that is what it is.

From my experiences with them, they were generally slow growers in my tank and yours seems to be doing pretty well of you have gotten that growth in 3 months.

Monti doesnt have the same skeletal structure as heliopora.

ahh ok i see now if they the same coral, then the light coloured one is heliopora that was bleached it has recovered its tan colour and shown good growth then but it goes through growth spurts then doesnt grow for abit and then can take off, i have alot in my tank and id call it a slow grower but small frags seem to grow faster.

This is an extremely tough coral and no fish seem to like to nibble on it , so pretty fish safe too!
