Hi everyone,

I have always had a very small amount of bubble algae, nothing bad at all and could always siphon it out with my weekly water changes when ever I saw it. I will be leaving for 3 months next week and of course am worried my tank sitters won't always take care of the bubble algae. I have heard that emerald crabs are known to eat it? Tank has been running for over a year so am sure there is plenty to eat for the crab if he does consume the bubble algae.

Question is, if I am leaving so soon is it a bad idea to add the crab to my system at the 11th hour?

I would be too scared it either brings a fish disease from the lfs (without qt-ing it) or it starts eating your corals while you are away. Murphy's law is real in this hobby.
