In addition to what Neil asked, what are the tank mates, what are you feeding, how often, and what size portions?

    Need actual numbers here.

Skip the algae as part of the diet. Meaty foods only for anemones.

im not sure its chemical warfare, thats a possibility but not the most likely, its purely a question at the moment, please dont settle on it being the reason.

wait for brenda, she knows a hell of alot more than anyone else on this :)

i was just brainstorming the possibilities

I don't think a chemical war between them is something we can fix, it's in their nature - the established one sees the other one as an intruder - the magnificent will carry on until the other one is dead, and then the dying one might affect something else in the tank too :(

Chemical war is a possibility, but I'm leaning towards it wasn't healthy to begin with. Please post a pic as soon as you can. I'd really like to see the color and what is near the anemone.

When keeping anemones, salinity is best to keep at about 1.026.

Do you know what lighting this anemone was kept under before you got it. It may need to be acclimated to your lighting. Placing window screen over the tank for a weak or so will help with this.

Do you know how long the LFS had the anemone before you purchased it? If it just arrived at the LFS, it may be stressed from being removed from the wild and shipping.

It is bleached. Which means it has lost some of its zooxanthellae. It is what I expected, an unhealthy anemone.

All you can do is provide it with a good environment, food and wait. Keep a close eye on it.

How big is this anemone? 2 cubes a day is too much, I missed that earlier, sorry!
