    hey everyone,
I have a 75ltr all in one tank that i would like to put an eel in. I was wandering if anyone has any suggestions as to which species to get as i have never kept one before. I live in Australia so it would also come down to avaliability.
    Thanks Jacob

you have a 75l tank, probably therefore a NANO, poor skimmer and no sump and you want to slip an eel in? just to confirm?

i did some research about eels a while back when i wanted one. i have a 250l tank and it said it was a minimum size for certain smallers eels... maybe not the best of bets to get an eel, as if they are unhappy they will jump out of you tank.
lid or no lid, i hear they will even get out of the smallest holes.
(on the plus side if this does happen, they can survive out of water for up to an hour)

i am no specialist at this and only know this from doing google research.

You could, but you would keep nothing else. Also dwarf lions are not the most active fish, so he will find a vertical rock face and just sit there all day.

yes you can, but only a dwarf. and you would need to be able to feed them live food or if you are lucky they could take frozen food
yeah they dont move about a lot, they would only really move from one perch to the next. But you can keep them with other fish, if the lion is small enough or the other fish are very big, but they can still take something just as big as their body so be warned. I have a Volitans lionfish which is the biggest species i believe with small butterflys and even a really small cleaner wrasse that cleans off the lion with no ill effect. But feeding was a problem for a while so make sure you can support it first
