    hi

i just wanted o know if it would be ok to use durban seawater to cure my live rock for my up coming tank

i would be taking it from umdloti in the rock pool area which i think would be the cleanest but would it be chilled and stuff.

Dont take it from the rock pool, that would be less clean. Take it from a few feet into the waves, where you can see its clear. You could use it to cycle your rocks, what is your plan? Will there be a skimmer+flow? Because they will be necessary. NSW will help kick off your curing but unless you did lots of water changes(depending on the number of rocks etc) it would be less effective than just skimming. So pool them all together and you have a good start, use the NSW to seed the rock and help with the curing process

there will just be a flow plus a air pump and additives like purple up and maybe a light over it and its carib sea primo reef base rock not live rock so much. reason i want to use the seawater cause i don't want to buy salt just for this.

If it's Primo Reef Rock you don't need to cure it - just rinse it off well in fresh water until water runs off clear, and place directly into your tank

IMO sea water IS the best, cause it is the real thing... Ja, take from the sea rather (remember, people swim in that rock pool).
