Do yourself a favour go talk to the Water Boy - Marco. His prices are very reasonable. I think he will only be getting livestock in at the beggining of the new year - but it is still well worth a visit.

Bud, the only lfs in Durbs worth buying anything, is Julies, and they never have much, rather stick to the sponsore/notable ones in JHB, or like me, I will only get my fish from a Capetown LFS, where I still have to drive to the Durban airport to pick them up. I promise you, the quality outlives the price.

Have to disagree with you, there is a lot of good stock at the other LFS' mentioned. I would ignore Natures Petland at the Crescent, never seen anything decent there and their prices are crazy. Cassim at Julies only occasionally has stock.

Chris at Northlands gets good stuff in, he will stand guarantee on his stock.
Mike from River &Reef always is getting new shipments in, so too Hillcrest and Pet Junction in Umbilo sometimes has some jewels.

Sorry bud, I did not know about River and reef, and Pet Junction and Hillcrest.

About Northlands though, my first queen I got from them, gave me so many problems because I did not qt it, my fish are all still in QT and I lost a lot of sentimental fish. It was my own fault though. Is what pissed me off about Northlands, is Chris said he will replace it, fair enough and good of him, but everytime I phone he is not there, I know he is cause the guys say they will pass me on to him, then they say who is calling, then say sorry he is not there, they say the next shipment will come in tommorrow and it never does, I have left a million messages for him to phone me back, and quite frankly I am getting messed around which is pissing me off. Rather they should not of said they would replace it in the first place, I am actually going to phone tommorrow and give them a what for. I do know know that the queens come in rare shipments, but this has been going on now for nearly 4-5months, and my calls have never been returned.

pm me your number and I will get Chris to return your call.
Have to say I've not seen any queen angels there for months now, but its always good to remind people of their promises.

When I lived in KZN last year I was very dissapointed with Julies and Northlands. Northlands prices are just crazy and Julies had a pot load of two foot tanks filled with cyano and whitespot. Never been to the others. To be honest, I would only do bussiness with Marco and Andrew from Eco-Aquatics down there ;)

I have just pm'd my details bud, too be honest is what stresses me is the fact that they don't keep their word, if they can't get a queen, rather say would you rather like another fish, offering a replacement is a sign of decency in a lfs, but keeping your word is another story, but it's the fact that Chris wont even answer my calls, or return them, and getting played for a fool and palming me off.

A month ago, I did give up and got an adult queen from a CTN lfs, for twice the price, but at least the quality is decent, and the lfs I bought it from even flippened phoned me to see if it arrived alive, and how it was doing 2 days later.
