Wow, the new HD PVR is so cool. Nice to get the most out of my LCD TV.

Cannot believe how different SD is to the new HD signal.

    Very wicked :)

It works the same as normal PVR, except when you record in HD, it takes up 4x the space. The new PVR has 150 hours of space for SD and 40 hours for HD.

My new HD PVR is link to my existing one, so the kids get the normal kak SD and I get the HD on my 46" Bravia

It will only be HD tomorrow on chan 170. After the 24 they will start showing movies.
The software is still full of bugs.
The picture is a bit better, we will see what it really can do tomorrow.
Been running the decoder since Monday.

There is loads of content, but the bandwidth is shit expensive, so it will take some time before we have enough content to keep my LCD happy.

What's the deal with these HD tv's. I see Makro is now advertising certain tv's as being "Full" HD, is there different types of HD or what?

I am no expert, but have been told the DSTV is a lower HD quality and the resolution can be higher or something like that.

Ok, but does that apply to the TV's as well? Does it perhaps have something to do with the resolution of the TV?
