    Well ive gotten very irrated.
    Ive Gone to 3 x Toys R Us. and non of them had stock of play sand..
    Can i just go to the beach and take from here ?

    i used beach sand, as did many others on this forum. go at low tide, wade in as far as you can and get from there. then enjoy carrying it back up the beach :)

    Or just spend R800 on araganite.

    or go to a garden center that supply topsoil, etc.
    Ask them for playsand.
    A lot cheaper.
    and just as dirty


    Or you are in Cape Town, go get.
    No point to get below low water mark, as the organisms are cold water and most likely will die anyway. Just clean sand from unpolluted beach. But wash it as well.

    Somebody had a post a while ago about this, I think it was Hennie. Basically get three buckets and a spade and go dig a hole at the low water mark at low tide. Fill the first bucket with the sand from the top, the second with sand from lower down and the third with sand from even lower down. Place them in the sump in reverse order, bucket three at the bottom, two in the middle, and one on top.
