    Hi

I currently have a RSM 130d and I'm starting to think about my next project/tank. I have an existing 1.8m Jebo with curved glass that I was using for freshwater Malawi's, that I'm thinking of drilling for sump purposes. Does anyone have any experience drilling these tanks - is it all possible, and if so should the hole be at the bottom or at the back? I'm not sure if the glass is tempered or not...

the problem with these tank is the tempered glass, the safest bet is emailing the manufacturer and drilling the base and adding support to the drilled section.

How did the drilling go? I also want to drill my curved tank with tempered glass. I am also thinking of drilling the base.

Tempered glass is a serious no no for fish tanks! If you drill it it will shatter like a car side window.

    Hi

Decided not to drill - did get feedback from another member that bottom was not tempered and could be drilled, but as I would need to replace lights and stand, I thought it better to sell off existing unit as full freshwater package and purchase purpose made marine tank. As Henk Hugo said - if any glass is tempered, you cannot drill. Make 100% sure before you proceed
