Drilling a double base

    so i have changed the way i want my overflow
    whats the best way to drill a double base, must i release where i have drilled through so water doesnt get between the panes? @Nemos Janitor @leslie hempel

    Yes it is best to seal around the hole. If the top base cracks then the water will not run out the hole and along the thread of the tank connector.

    thanks, but some how i dont feel safe drilling the bottom

    Yes the coast to coast acts as a brace. Don't make it to shallow as the holes will be very close to the top and the weakness will be there. Allow at least 80 to 100mm

    i have planned to have them 15cm from the top, 50mm holes, could i use 6mm glass for the internal weirs, shouldnt much pressure on them

    Hi I recently drilled a doulble pain hole for my friend and had not probs, BTW Dallas do you have a 50mm drill I have one if you need it.
