    Thats expensive, i can get it from the states to here for around 14k. Dont want to risk it though in case the eel is dead when it gets here.

    Dragon eels needs a deep sand bed. And prefer a constant flow from on side. Not random turbulent flow we create with out flow pumps.

    Taking about random constant flow, @RiaanP would a wave maker then do the trick or would that still cause random flow due to the the water getting pushed from the one side but when the water ( bouncers back from the other side) ?

    Constant flow = 5 sun suns powerhead. You will have a vortex.

    nice fish but if it that expensive and need specialized setups, why don't you try a blue ribbon eel..they should be a bit easier.

    btw with these eels you will need glass slides on tank, covers on all overflows and returns and they have been known to get stuck in pumps which is a problem.

    when I kept ribbon eel I even covered the wavemakers with netting.

    wont lie tho..out of every fish I have ever kept the eel is the coolest..well worth the extra effort

    Depends on your setup. If powerheads place into the corners it will create a Vortex. Round and around in same direction.

    Having powerheads then on timers or controllers so that you can turn the flow direction around after example an hour. That would be better.

    Will work, although SunSun units do not like to be constantly switched on and off. They are cheap enough to replace if they fail.

    Just check the sand storms.

    @4age

    Send me a picture of your nets around your flow pumps please.

    I have a zebra eel, he cant escape. My tank is from floor to ceiling and the over flow also has netting over it.

    Awesome fish eels are. Thats why i want the dragon. They look insane.
