    Hi everyone

Im moving house, and iv decided to downscale from a 250L DT to 100L DT.
im moving in 2 months time, so i want to start the process, first of all i need to sell some of my corals and fish, secondly, start to prepare my 100L DT, and then thirdly i need to move all.
any advise as to were i should begin, what i need to do as of right now, to prepare new DT,SUMP etc, (Tank has been running for 5 years, so all corals are nice and grown-up)
Thanx, advise would be greatly appreciated.

frist would be to sell what you dont want.

then when you move, setup new 100L at new house, move over rock, water and livestock from 250L and that should be enough water.

that way no stress, you can get some seachem stability to dose just incase

so it would be like this: i set up 100KL DT now, move the corals and fish i do want to keep into it, sell from my 250L all i dont want, then break up and sell entire old 250, then move corals and fish in 100L AGAIN when i move,
Is that a good idea? not so sure

sadly you will have to empty the DSB, unless your very strong and can move it without breaking the sump

@Fredo and moderators please allow me to ask this question on this thread as it is with regards to the same subject.

I want to move to Cape Town with my 100L tank and fish is it possible to do the same? It is plus minus 1000km travel.

Yes it is, bag the fish and corals with oxygen from lfs, pack in poly boxes. Wrap bags in damp newspaper, helps fish stress less and will also help with temp control. As for LR you can pack in poly boxes and cover in wet news paper, seal the boxes and don't open until you are there. What I would do is organise new water for when you arrive. Your biggest hurdle will be getting the ph right from box to tank, acclimate them slowly and use stability and prime. Prodibio make a great product called travelsafe that will help with water

when you add the livestock, float the bags in the new tank water, getting the temp will help with the ph a little, after 10-15min float slowly acclimate the stock back to the tank over 1-3 hours to allow of a small ph shift.

also try and get the new tank to the correct range 8.1-8.3 before you add any stock.
