Guys who of you are buying and dosing additives in bulk?

What is your take on it and where can I buy?

What is available and what should I be asking for??

My alk and cal are being depleted so quickly that I'm considering a carx but I do have a doser I'm wanting to rig up for the daily addition of additives.

Please advise

Thanks

Last year November I bought 3 x 25kg's of Calcium chloride, magnesium chloride (aka epsom salts) and sodium bicarbonate (bicarb). Protea chemicals only sell 25 kg bags so I split it up in 2kg bags each and sold the rest.
Cost is prob around R250 per 25kg bag.
Just bake the sodium bicarb in the oven nefore use. The baking drives some of the carbon dioxide out of the baking soda, and raises its pH as well as its alkalinity.

So far all is good, no complaints.

Magnesium chloride is not epsom salts. Magnesium suphate is. I find that on a large volume the dosing pump does not seem to keep up with the consumption. I am concidering adding a kalk stirrer to the mix and then supplementing with the dosing pumps if needed.

i am going to use Randys 3 part.

my experience over the years is that a large tank over 500L a carx is more cost effective

I have been using calcium chloride flakes bought at pool shop plus Epson salt for magnesium and baking soda (koeksoda) for alkilinity and my parameters has been stable for months my acropora has new growth tips every day.

Yup using the Epsom salts, bicarb and buying instacal but the installation cal is weak. Doesn't register a climb in my cal levels. Unless I'm dosing too conservitivley. Alk is also a problem for me!

I'm assuming the product can go off? Hence the repackaging?

Any recomended dosages you guys would like to share would be helpful.

Dosage is different for all tanks. Im dosing nearly 200ml alkilinity and 160 ml Calsium daily. To keep it at 450 ppm and 8kh.
