Hey guys, Im going to start dosing just BioDigest for now. I will get BioClean next month when I have money :p and Im also paranoid about dosing bioptim at the moment because I have some cyano so I was thinking it would help the cyano lol ..

Anyways, the recommended dosage for my tank is 3 vials (600L) and my system is around 660L .. I have a refuge with cheato and I dont want it to die. If I dose 3 vials then wont the nutrients drop to such a low level that the chaeto will die?

@Slagter, after a while when he dosed biodigest his macro algae died.

I just have some shrooms and a frogspawn and I will not be stocking any sps in the near future (will be sticking to LPS, zoa's, shrooms etc). I wanted to know if I should rather dose 2 vials instead?

@gMAN, what are your experiences with biodigest? Are you only dosing biodigest?

When I spoke to the guy who invented Prodibio at Dorry Pets - I asked about the cyno issue and he said that when you dose Bio digest and Biotim it will outcompete the cyno eventually. He said there is no risk of overdose and alot of guys where using bioptim one week and biodigest the following week. He said the prodibio even works well with the Bio-Pellets. Vacuum your gravel and rockwork to get rid of excess detritus.

I've been using Prodibio for quite some time now. There are massive advantages to using it.

I dose 2 vials of Biodigest and Bioptim at the same time every second week. I now also dose 2 Vials of Reefbooster as well. I dose in the evening, turn the skimmer off and then turn it back on in the morning.

If you still feed your system, some nutrients will be in the water, so your macro algaes should still be fine. My Cualerpa died, because I lost most of my fish and I wasn't feeding as much so there were less nutrients in the water. If you still feed heavily, then your Chaeto should be fine.

    I got the BioKit Reef.

5 different vials, 6 each. I add one set every second weekend. Just switch your skimmer off for a day. And switch off your Ozone.

kit contains Bio Digest, Bioptim, Reef Booster, Iodi+, and Stronti+

I just have 5 chromis so I feed little.. My goal is to get rid of the cyano before it becomes a problem and overall improve my water quality. Heard that biodigest also helps to remove phosphates.. Anyone had any experience with this?

Should I rather start off dosing 1 vial once a week like gMAN and work up to 2 vials?

    Hi

Not sure why you going to dose so much, I am sure 1 vial does a 1000l. Mine does up to 1000l.

Nah dude... Go for 2 vials. It works better, otherwise you'll wait twice as long to see the results.

Dont overdose things seabass, take your time. Patience is key in this hobby. You might trigger other stuff to happen. :whistling:

If you look on the instructions, it tells you how many vials to dose to the amount of literage in your tank. Mine recommends that I dose 3 vials as per the instructions.

My 2nd tank and my 2nd year, been running it from the start on the new tank, been 5 month now, but agreed don't overdose, that's why I say 1 vial of biodigest and then 1 vial of Bioptim, so on the 15th of the month it is 1 digest and then on the 30 th it's is 1 Bioptim. Thats what I do. I can't say that there products work or don't work, but I am happy and would rather not try without it. :)

    What I do.

Lol, could be that instructions on our stock differs. Why can't it just be, add water and fish:)

Can't really say as it's only been a week that I'm using the digest after my tank move. I was told to use 1 vial per week (box of 12 vials)
