    Hi guys

baought a dory from the LFS the other day ( was actually feeling bed for the poor thing..stomach all shrunken, pale etc etc) been doing well so far , feeding sea veggies, frozen brine etc. Thing is it doesnt want the "normal" nori...

also while i was zapping my aptasia farm today a few undissolved kalk particles floated around and she ate the...could this show a deficiency of sorts or am i paranoid.

PS bear in mind i only know predator tanks:p

Hi Frans - no - it just means that the "dory" must still "develop" it's taste for nori. The nori that we feed is actually not raw anymore - it has been "cooked".... ;)
So - just keep on with this.
BTW: in the meanwhile - see if you can get hold of some caulerpa..... they go crazy for caulerpa.....

    thanx guys

warr what i mean by "normal" is made for huma consumption and used for sushi...did check the makeup and dont see anything strange though

might just be my inexperience with keeping veggie eaters making me nervous..did give her some red algea tonight and it was chomped within a few minutes..even the lion tried a piece:)

so everything is still looking well i just dont want to w3ait before asking questions...normally its too late by then

WOW! Awesome that your lion fish eats nori! WOW! Perhaps I should try it - because, mine does not want dead/defrosted lance-fish! ;) Perhaps I must try pink shrimp?

I have a Chocolate Tang that will only eat the Nori/Seaweed if I break it up and feed it like big flakes. It just ignores the Nori if I clip it to the tank.

My regal doesn't eat nori but goes mad for any flake or pellet food. Now I also give a veggie flake which it likes

try live brine, bad sign if his stomach was already sunk when you got him may not be eating cause of methods catch if he doesn't make it make sure you get your next one from a different supplier. I've never had trouble with a regal they eat well but never nori.

Dragon Reef told me about this some years back. I thought he lost it. But after trying it out, my surgeons and tangs lost it :)
