Its a joke. Dont buy it.

Salesman said I can test it and as long as the ports are closed, the warranty will cover it.
I bought the m2 aqua and submerged it in less than 20cm of water. Ports were obviously closed.
When I opened the charge port water started dripping out. Vodacom says they wont repair/replace the phone as it has water damage (no shit).
Bear in mind this phone is rated for 1,5m of water for 30minutes.
Like a idiot i didnt see the pages of complaints on hellopeter about the sony phones taking on water.

Now im stuck with a brick!

So just dont be a idiot like me and fall for their marketing hog wash

    That sucks man...

I have also seen lots of people complain..

Think I am lucky with my Sony Z1 compact, haven't had any problems with it.

Did you try contacting Sony? 0861632222

I want a z3 compact. Did you test it in salt or freshwater?
Was it the Aqua version and not just the M2?

I don't think you can use it in salt water,
The earphone port cannot be closed, so there's a possibility it could rust...

Did you try putting it in rice? I did that and it worked. Just open up all of the ports and put it in a bowl of rice.

Its a mechanical seal so some are bound to fail. if 20% fail that is still quite a large number

Mikebike, I see we are both members on another forum, I posted my experience with the Sony Z3 on there, but I think I want to get a Z3 one last time (this will be Z3 number 3) and if I experience problems again then I guess I'll be going back to Samsung.

Trying to be objective here...How is it Vodacom's fault? Clearly it's a manufacturing defect?!

Yes it is, both my Z3s were out of box failure as they call it, but there is no Sony office or so which handles this, the phone has to go through the provide. Well that is what I was told.

They sold it to me so if it breaks they must sort it out.If one of my parts fails that I sold the customer I dont tell him to sort it out with the supplier in germany.

I get what you saying @mikebike and they should sort you out but your point comes across as if they manufactured the phone when in essence they received the same phone you did straight from Sony.

    Hope you come right soon.....
